Spring-Summer 2016 Collection
Around the world in one collection: this is the inspiration for the Spring Summer 2016 Weekend Max Mara collection, a fantasy journey through some of the most delightful and best-known places around the globe.
An itinerary that starts out from Europe – France, Spain, the Netherlands, Greece and Italy – and moves right on towards Australia and Fiji islands, offering a mix of different inspirations for a chic yet laid-back collection that shifts from casual, outdoor wear to pieces with a more urban, glam allure. Perfect pieces for women who enjoy travelling: the slim trench, the double-breasted blazer and the boyfriend jeans, as well as sundresses and jungle print pyjama pants for a more summery, feminine look.
This world tour approach is also evident in the colours and patterns. Black and white à la française is combined with micro-floral prints and sailor stripes and enriched with embroidery, appliqués and sophisticated fil coupé details for a beautifully fresh look.
Amsterdam street style becomes the inspiration for shades that shift from blue to white, thanks to the use of denim, warmed up by the golden tones of suede. Navy is ever-present, along with khaki and the optical white of Santorini. Colours that move towards bright and sunny Mediterranean shades such as turquoise, orange and bright blue, often combined for colour block effects or original check prints with a brushstroke effect.
Summer brings the juicy colours of Sicilian cassata, from cedar green to watermelon pink, featured on jacquard fabrics or floral prints, also found in the shades of white and blue. Dresses are decorated with tropical patterns, in a cocktail of mint, blue curaçao, orange and fuchsia colours, toned down by total white pieces or lighten up with bags and sandals in contrasting shades.
Classics of the Weekend Max Mara Spring Summer 2016 collection: the trench to be worn with pyjama pants, printed skirts, reversible dust coats, flared mini tunics or with long floral dresses. The white cotton voile dress enhanced with romantic, feminine hand-sewn embroidery. Finally the jacket: worn with matching trousers, mixed with long skirts or jeans for a fresh and younger style.
