Fall-Winter 2016 Collection
AUTUMN/ WINTER 2016-17 ECLECTIC GENTLEMEN
Milan, January 2016 – A peek into the future: the Alberto Guardiani Fall/Winter 2016 Menswear Collection is inspired by a futuristic spirit, apparent in all next season's styles.
Reappropriating the past while continuing to look into the future is Alberto Guardiani's recipe for dressing today's gentleman with success. And so the collection goes back to historic styles (evolved with new materials) and an obsessive focus on details, made possible by the irreplaceable savoir-faire of the master shoemakers of the Marches.
Designed for a gentleman with a multi-faceted personality and bold style, the Fall/Winter 2016 Collection comes up with a cross-cutting, hybrid universe of innovative footwear maintaining all the appeal of the great classics.
This eclectic spirit is perfectly incarnated in the Antony, this season's most important new shoe. Its sober, impeccable lines recalling the world of formalwear cross paths with exquisitely contemporary features such as a black rubber lug sole covered with a strip of slate-grey leather. A number of variations are available: from the ankle boot to the timeless derby and the slip-on, it is today's version of one of Alberto Guardiani's historic styles.
Quality materials and unusual techniques interpret a number of different occasions for use and different temperaments: from the composed sobriety of lace-ups in black tumbled calfskin to plucky booties made of craquelé patent leather and an eccentric crocodile-look calfskin decorated with a camouflage print.
A plucky look characterizes the structure of the Power shoe, made instantly recognizable by the red midsole on its heel and the logo on the metal eyelet. Built on a rubber sole inspired by hiking boots, this solid shoe with bold lines is interpreted in two different moods: a bold, sporty look for the lace-up short boot version, or a more fashionable metropolitan look in a derby shoe.
More calibrated but equally refined, the Gauguin is the perfect shoe for anyone seeking a timeless accessory with a nod to today's trendiest styles. A calibrated rubber sole, not overstated, encounters one of the most classic shoe styles, made of hammered calfskin: the timeless double buckle shoe, with the addition of a characteristic notched fringe, a contemporary touch that instantly brings it up to date. But the detail that makes this shoe truly unique is a natural leather midsole, product of the painstaking hand craftsmanship that adds a special touch to the entire collection.
Even Alberto Guardiani's most classic styles are altered by the free spirit of experimentation characterizing the Fall/Winter 16 Collection, with new and different combinations of materials, sophisticated prints and innovative details.
Such as Clayton, in which the characteristic lug sole is brought up to date with a laminated leather welt: a special touch graphically underlining the shoe's streamlined silhouette with a slightly tapered toe. The derby appears in hammered leather trimmed with tiny studs, making it a perfect passe-par-tout combining the authority of a lace-up with the sporty attitude of a lug sole.
The Algreen, with its rubber platform sole and unique camouflage tread, is also reinvented this season. Along with booties and derby shoes there are loafers, with tassels and elastic left bare for a casual, sporty mood. A stylish detail: the blue camouflage print on the sole also appears in the quality brushed leather on the tip of the toe.
After all, it's the details that make the difference!
And for men who prefer classic style, Alberto Guardiani has brought back some of its historic models: the Tintoretto, a lace-up with a minimal cap-toe, with contrasting colours on the sole and toe for this season. Sober colour combinations such as black and forest green or black and garnet ensure that this classic shoe preserves all its aplomb.
Aldon, another historic Alberto Guardiani style, is also back with a new look: a derby that laces up at the side, with an agile rubber sole to give it a broader, more contemporary appeal.
The Guardiani Sport Collection is tuned in to the same wavelength: while classic shoes discover their sporty side, in this collection sports footwear becomes more dressy, multiplying its potential.
The Berk, for example, is transformed with new materials from a simple sneaker to a refined multipurpose shoe. Its ultralight sole makes the Berk incredibly comfortable; the new hides with a bold material appeal (such as lizard-printed suede or calfskin with camouflage inserts) give it a refined new look. Available in a vast colour palette ranging from garnet to grey and aviator blue, it's the metropolitan dandy's favourite sneaker.
Circus has evolved in the same direction: its characteristic milled rubber sole - completed with a midsole and a metallic welt – is combined with a simple upper, underlined by the discrete luminosity of tumbled, laminated calfskin. Thus the perfect smart-casual accessory takes form. Style or comfort? Now you don't have to choose.
Wavy, a classic running shoe, also becomes a hybrid, effortlessly combining a sporty
sole with a calfskin and felt top clearly inspired by the world of men's tailoring. The same is true of Tudor, identified by its box sole, and Truman, with a zipper down the middle. The structures of both shoes are given a new identity by bold combinations of materials for a new patchwork look. Different hues of suede, different kinds of leather, and complementary forms of craftsmanship are combined spontaneously, with a boldly visionary touch and a pinch of fun, to create shoes of great character and unrivalled practicality.
